A wearable writing companion made for moving. The creative process should not be defined by the desk you are sitting at.

Left half opened, showing the battery, wiring, and keys. Left half of the Wandering Computer, screen on and ready to type.
Left hand

Based on a variant of ASETNIOP as a keyboard layout.

The left half provides ASET as well as a backspace or modifier key.

Right half opened, showing the battery, wiring, and keys. Right half of the Wandering Computer, screen on and ready to type.
Right hand

The other half of the keys represent NIOP and space or another modifier key.

Worn together, the two leave the desk behind.

A multi-year project that's slowly evolving into an interface

Why write and not dictate?

You could speak and bring your phone or a voice recorder but walking and writing/typing offers a different experience.

One half of the Wandering Computer held in an open hand, the clear shell showing the battery and keys.
The two halves are kept together by magnets and startup once you pull them apart.
Re-learning how to type

The learning curve is steep and there are strange hurdles to muscle memory.

Both halves worn on the hands, screens on, ready to type by a window.
Yet the joy of writing your own name for the first time brings a smile to your face!

Occasionally I write an update about the project, consider subscribing!
